Summer has passed and plants have gone dormant for the winter. The plant nursery will reopen in Spring, at which point the T IoT LAB’s sensors will also resume measurements.
When visiting the Arboretum, it’s worth stopping by the plant sales point. Most of the species on offered there come from seeds collected in the garden. Some are obtained via vegetative reproduction. You’ll also find interesting plants that are rarely found in Poland or rare species valuable for collectors like maple, magnolia, styrax, pterostyrax, olplopanax and katsura. Our plants are a great choice for anyone looking for an unusual, natural souvenir for their garden or home.
What role might technology play here? In the T IoT LAB, we’ve installed a water meter and valves that allow us to manage water consumption and watering. This solution allows us to continually check water consumption. The valves make it possible to manage the watering cycle remotely via a device with internet access. Combining these devices with soil moisture measurement allows gardeners to accurately adjust the watering cycle to plants’ individual needs, which in turn optimises and rationalises water consumption. What’s more, metering helps detect and counteract potential technical failures and leaks.
